The annual LNMB conference, The Mathematics of Operations Research, is the premier gathering in the Netherlands for senior and junior researchers working in this field. The programme features presentations on current high-quality research and real-world applications, attracting both academic scholars and practitioners from industry and the public sector.
The programme will be continuously updated.
We are honoured to present an outstanding lineup of keynote speakers, each a leader in the field of Operations Research. This year's keynote addresses will be delivered by:
Since its establishment in 1997, the Gijs de Leve Prize has been awarded to researchers whose PhD theses have made significant contributions to Operations Research. The 2023–2026 laureate(s) will be announced during the conference. Nominations are currently open and close on 30 September; see also the prize webpage for more information.
The programme includes our traditional PhD student presentations. LNMB’s PhD presentations are an integral part of the conference, offering a stage for young researchers to present their ongoing work. These presentations not only allow PhD students to receive feedback and refine their ideas but also connect them with senior researchers and industry professionals.
Please express your interest for a presentation by completing this form. The abstract submission will open on 1 October 2026.
The third day of the LNMB conference, co-organised with NGB, continues our tradition of connecting research in Operations Research with real-world applications, offering participants a deeper understanding of how OR is applied in practice and addressing contemporary challenges faced by professionals.
This year’s theme is Operations Research for Defence and Security. This has never been more relevant than today. With rising geopolitical tensions, hybrid warfare, and the rapid proliferation of autonomous systems and AI-driven threats, the need for rigorous, data-driven decision-making in defence contexts is critical. OR provides the analytical backbone that modern security challenges demand.
